The Cupboard New Client FAQ
THE CHEFS BEHIND THE CUPBOARD
The Cupboard was founded by Rachael Gorjestani out of a desire to serve an audience wanting high quality, fresh, and healthy home cooked meals. We customize to meet each clients’ needs, delivering fresh and nutrient dense food to clients in the Bay area. We are passionate about health, functional nutrition, and truly nourishing foods.
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Upon your initial inquiry, we'll talk through any dietary preferences, health concerns and goals to best assess how we can support you. It’s our goal to individualize the menu so that you get exactly what you’re looking for: healthy food to support you and your lifestyle! Based on your needs, we will pair you with the best fitting chef.
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU USE; HOW DOES NUTRITION PLAY A ROLE?
All meals are made with high quality, seasonal, and organic ingredients. Animal protein is pasture, grass fed, sustainable, & organic. Meals are gluten and dairy free, for the most part. Please let me know if you are gluten or dairy intolerant. Options to use pasture raised eggs and some dairy products are available.
With a nutrition background, The Cupboard offers a well-rounded diet which provides necessary nutrients to energize the body and mind while helping you reach your health goals. Meals showcase a rainbow of superfoods, vegetables, healthy fats, and quality proteins which are packed with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and nutrients. Ingredients are prepared in such a way to boost digestibility to ensure that the foods’ nutrients are available for your body to utilize.
DO I HAVE TO COMMITMENT?
The Cupboard offers a subscription based service. Try it for the first week with no commitment! Afterwards there is a month to month commitment.
IS THERE A DELIVERY FEE?
Delivery is included on evening drop offs within San Francisco city limits. Areas beyond are subject to a delivery free. Other delivery times are available for an added cost.
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PROCESS?
Payment is made via ACH through Quickbooks. Invoices are emailed and payments are due on a bi-monthly basis. In-home chef services are a little different and payment frequency agreed upon between client and The Cupboard.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Please give me at least 7 days’ notice! If you no longer need my services, let me know as soon as you have an idea of when you’d like to stop. We offer our clients 2 weeks every 6 months to opt out. More information provided on the first call.
**Less than a 7 days’ notice shall result in a $200 service charge.**
WHAT DAYS DO YOU DELIVER?
Deliveries are made every Monday evening between 5-9pm. If you are not home during delivery windows, we are able to deliver meals via car riding app at your convenience.
WHAT ARE THE MEALS DELIVERED IN (I.E. CONTAINERS)?
As a way to minimize waste and optimize quality, we use reusable glass containers. An initial fee of $95-125 will enroll you into the meal delivery which includes glass containers during your time with us! Each time we deliver your fresh meals, we'll pick up a set of empty containers from the week prior. All you do is wash the containers and place them back into the delivery bag! At the end of the service, glassware is returned to The Cupboard.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE IN-HOME CHEF SERVICE
For our in-home chef clients we can purchase glassware for you or use what’s in your kitchen. All ingredients are on top of labor including pantry goods like spices and oils. We will leave all of these purchases in your home for your use and the use of your chef! Before we begin this service, we’ll take a tour of your kitchen space to take inventory of your pantry and appliances. We may also suggest the purchasing of other items like pots, pans, that are essential for your chef to execute meals that meet our standards. We will talk through these details on our call together.
